“I would do Suzuki anything. It is the process that is valuable.”

Read testimonial from Danielle Nicholson

Rosanne has been teaching my daughter violin for over 5 years (since she was 4). For those five years my daughter and I have spent between 10 and 30 minutes at least 5 times a week working together to build her skill with this instrument. It is the one time each day that we are completely uninterruptible and  the one time of day we deal with the real issues of life like the best ways to learn, how to deal with mistakes, what to do when things get hard and whether speed makes us better or just plain faster.

One of the reasons I looked into this programme was the comment made to me by the parent of an older child, “I would do Suzuki anything. It is the process that is valuable”.

I am a teacher and work predominantly with gifted children. This is my passion and my depth of research into ideal learning environments of successful people is extensive. Rosanne and the Suzuki method match what I believe to be ideal.

Rosanne is a positive mentor for my daughter, often having to deal with the many other issues children face along any learning journey. Her genuine care and concern for the whole child is felt and the respect and comfort my daughter has with her is beyond what she has had with any other educator.

As far as playing the violin I am amazed at the development over these past few years. The children are playing pieces of extreme difficulty without even being aware of how well they are achieving. They out-strip any child who attempts to learn in the traditional method.

When we began violin it was a real stretch financially and my husband and I constantly reevaluate its value, but every year we decide it is one of the best investments we have made into the future of our daughter. What she has gained from Rosanne is far more than the ability to play a beautiful instrument.

Without any concerns at all I recommend the parent of any child trial and seriously consider Rosanne as an educator for their child.

“She has that rare gift as a teacher in not only being a superb violin teacher but she also relates to her pupils and nurtures them along the way.”

When Rosanne asked me to write a testimonial for her, I had absolutely no hesitation in agreeing to do so.

She has that rare gift as a teacher in not only being a superb violin teacher but she also relates to her pupils and nurtures them along the way.

She has great wisdom and an amazing capacity to draw out the strengths. In her pupils.

I consider myself to have been extremely lucky and grateful that both of my children were tutored in music by her learning life skills along the way.

Skills such as, work ethic, applying ones best, concentration skills and taking on responsibilities and challenges, and most importantly building on their self esteem.

My daughter studied violin under Rosannes tutelage for eleven years, gaining her L.T.C.L. At the age of 16yrs!  Her pupils are also encouraged to join orchestras, chamber groups, audition for National Youth Orchestra, and to take part in community events.

As a teacher, she gives far more of herself  and her time than one would expect. She belives whole heatedly in Dr. Suzuki’s teaching methods that children are nurtured and encouraged to find the best in themselves through love.

As a friend, I regard Rosanne as having high morals, values and ethics. She has always been honest and generous with her time and patient and gentle in working with other people.

If your child is lucky enough to have Rosanne in their life, you will be ever grateful for the benefits your child will gain in developing and drawing out the best of their character.

She is a rare professional .

“Rosanne has exceptional qualities as a teacher of the violin but of more than that as a teacher of the love and understanding of all aspects of music.”

Read testimonial from Kathi McLean

I have known Rosanne as a teacher of violin for over twenty –five years. Rosanne has exceptional qualities as a teacher of the violin but of more than that as a teacher of the love and understanding of all aspects of music.

She has significant skills in teaching the understanding of the violin and of musicianship. She is not only able to teach individuals with excellence but also  takes exciting group lessons with  children. Rosanne always came up with novel ideas to capture children’s interest in her lesson as well as modeling self discipline and respect .

I totally recommend her as a teacher for work in either the individual or group lesson capacity. Regards

Rosanne Forde was my violin teacher for 11 years. She is an exceptional teacher with an amazing ability to get the best out of her students.

She is a caring, nurturing individual with a wealth of knowledge and a great talent in all things music.

Rosanne successfully put me through many exams over the years and I would highly recommend her as a teacher to anyone considering learning the violin.

“She was not only my beloved violin teacher from age four to seventeen, but she also helped nurture me into the person I am today.”

Read testimonial from Jennifer Banks

Rosanne Forde has been and is still a most inspiring and influential person for me. She was not only my beloved violin teacher from age four to seventeen, but she also helped nurture me into the person I am today.

Rosanne had a crucial influence on my musical development – not only through teaching me sound violin technique, but in helping me to learn music theory, to sightread well, to expand my memory capabilities through memorisation of all the Suzuki books, and to achieve goals such as my LTCL performance certificate. She always made sure her students had the utmost most personal care and support, and she provided ample opportunities for us to perform in public. This grounding in regular performance helps me to feel at home when I step out on stage today.

After finishing my studies with Rosanne, I completed an Honours Degree in violin performance at the University of Otago. I then undertook further study in Toronto and at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where I studied with renowned Israeli violin soloist Miriam Fried. After completing my masters degree, I joined the Tasman String Quartet as Graduate Quartet in residence at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

I currently live in Leipzig, Germany where I am serving as Principal 2nd Violin with the world renowned Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra – the oldest (and largest) civic orchestra in the world. With this orchestra I have appeared on most of the world’s great stages and with many wonderful musicians.

I will always be grateful to Rosanne for everything she taught me, and I most enthusiastically recommend and hope that every child could have the great privilege of being her pupil.

“Rosanne has a deep understanding of children as she has been teaching for 40 years and so is able to work with children no matter what sort of personality or difficulty they may throw her way.”

I would like to say that Rosanne has been teaching my children the violin for nearly 4 years now.  I can honestly say that I have found her to be so patient and understanding with them. She is able to get them to learn and apply themselves in a way that is outstanding. Rosanne has a deep understanding of children as she has been teaching for 40 years and so is able to work with children no matter what sort of personality or difficulty they may throw her way. I would easily recommend her for any teaching position she wishes to undertake. Feel free to contact me if you wish to.
